WHAT’S INCLUDED

Everything during the program—lodging, meals, in-country transportation, sports equipment and supplies, programming, travel insurance, a celebratory dinner in the Azores, an overnight hotel stay in the Boston area, and a final debrief and processing session before everyone returns home.

Flights are not included in the program cost. Because participants will be traveling from across the country, you'll book your own flights to and from your home airport. LOCATION

Ponta Delgada, Azores

Overview

Sport has a remarkable way of bringing people together.

You don't need to travel across the world to make a difference. You already invest in others every day—through coaching, mentoring, teaching, ministry, or leadership. This journey is something different. It's an invitation to step away from the pace of everyday life, take a deep breath, experience a remarkable corner of the world, and allow yourself to be renewed even as you serve.

Throughout the week, you'll partner with Athletes in Action and local leaders to help lead a multi-sport camp for children from across the Azores. These camps rely on volunteers and create opportunities for young people to experience encouragement, belonging, and the joy that comes from caring adults investing in their lives. Through coaching, conversation, and simply showing up, you'll help share the love of Christ in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Beyond the playing field, you'll experience the volcanic landscapes and coastal beauty of what's often called the "Hawaii of the Atlantic." You'll build community with fellow leaders, create space each day for reflection, and return home not only encouraged by the lives you've touched, but renewed for the work waiting for you back home.

What You’ll Do

  • Help lead a multi-sport camp that creates opportunities for children across the Azores to experience encouragement, belonging, and joy.

  • Coach, play, and build relationships through the universal language of sport, discovering how simple moments often leave the deepest impression.

  • Serve alongside local leaders who have faithfully invested in young people and their communities for years.

  • Experience the Azores beyond the playing field through its volcanic landscapes, dramatic coastlines, and rich island culture.

  • Create space for your own renewal through Compass Time, Table Talk, and unhurried moments of reflection with fellow leaders.

  • Return home encouraged and refreshed, with a broader global perspective and a renewed appreciation for the lasting influence of investing in others.
